How to Care for your Paella Pan

Before you use your paella pan for the first time, you need to remove the label and the thin protective coating. To do this, first warm the pan for a minute - the label should then peel off very easily.

To properly season your new paella pan, firstly, bring some water to a boil in the pan, and then wash it in warm water with mild soap, and dry thoroughly. Next, rub a small amount of vegetable oil all over of the pan with some paper towel. You
are now ready to cook!

Polished steel paella pans, traditional stainless steel paella pans, and enamelled paella pans have been designed for use with gas or a direct flame, however, never place an empty pan on a direct heat. Heat your paella pan slowly and control the heat at all times.

If you use your pan in the oven, do not allow it to be exposed to temperatures higher than 250 °C, or for more than 10 minutes. None of our paella pans are suitable for use in a microwave oven.

Only use metal or wooden utensils. Never use plastic utensils, as paella pans (including the handles) get extremely hot. Keep away from children at all times.

After using, soak your paella pan in warm soapy water for about an hour, and then clean thoroughly using a scouring pad, if necessary. Once your paella pan is clean, dry immediately and then seal it with a thin coating of vegetable oil. Never allow your paella pan to air dry.

You may find that after time your pan takes on a “seasoned” appearance — do not worry as this is perfectly normal.

Please note that your paella pan must be hand washed and is not suitable for
dishwasher cleaning.
